Brief

Sally Argyle wanted to produce a no-nonsense beauty magazine to cater to the 18 to 25 culture-orientated market.

Solution

To take the edge off the name ‘Warpaint’ and its primary association with tribal societies, the cosmetic colours of red and pink, as prevalent in lipsticks and rouge, are used.

Research concludes that a pocket-sized magazine would be more popular due to its handy size. A grided layout reinforces the no-nonsense ethos, with lush fashion photography to seduce the visually-led readers.

84pp, 105 colour illustrations. 170×220mm.
