Alcohol Concern HubCAPP website

Client

Alcohol Concern is the national UK agency on alcohol misuse. Founded in 1984, the charity works to reduce alcohol-related harm and increase services to people with alcohol problems and their families.

Brief

A website was required (to accompany the branding designed) for the new Alcohol Concern initiative for health professionals to share their projects and strategies across the UK. Called Hub of Commissioned Alcohol Projects & Policies (HubCAPP), the website needed to organise the different projects by region and show linkages between the project and policies that connected them. Being text-heavy, Double Sided was commissioned to design the site in a clear, attractive and easy-to-use site.

Our approach

We guided Alcohol Concern through the design process, helping them think about the user’s tasks at different points on the site. Actions are clearly labelled and written in plain English, with complex information grouped into relevant tabs.

Result

The website’s clean layout has encouraged health professionals to use the site and keep coming back (46% are returning visitors).

“Double Sided clearly outlined their design processes and help to clarify thinking of how a user would navigate through the site. They tied all the design features together to make a clear structure and well designed layout.

Comments from users are that it is clear, easy to use and navigate and displays complex information in an interesting manner.

We are very pleased with the design and look of the website and its functionality.”
